Several people have asked me why I call myself a Purpose Ambassador. It was a title given to me by Aaron Hurst, author of The Purpose Economy. At first, I used it because it is a pretty cool title, isn’t it? Like most titles, they’re just words that we paste into our signatures and the more creative or prestigious the title, the better.

However, I found myself living into this title. Most likely, it was given to me because I was already playing the role in some capacity, but I didn’t feel it, not at first – maybe I was asking for too much to want for that deep in the depths of my soul feeling. That’s the kind of person I am. I have to do everything 100% and then some.

There must be something to that saying “Fake it ’til you make it.” Otherwise, it wouldn’t be a saying, but I digress. It’s as if the act of faking it leads to the right mental state for you to realize your true potential. That is why the titles we choose are important. As are the words you put in your mission statement.

The same is true for finding your purpose. You need to struggle with the words, write them down and start faking, I mean making, your way towards your potential. Over the next 10 days, January 1st through January 10th, I’ll post steps to my Purpose Challenge called Live on Purpose.

Over the next week and a half I’ll journey with you and help you ask the right questions. We’ll ponder, prod and even contradict ourselves. In the end, I hope this exercise helps you resolve to Live on Purpose in 2015.
