The news is gruesome. I can hardly turn it on without hearing of death and destruction. I prefer to fill my brain with better things, though I can’t completely disconnect from current events. Earlier this year I found a email newsletter service called theSkimm, which sends me a daily recap of what’s going on in the world. You can check out theSkimm archives here to see what they send. It beat CNN Breaking News which inundates my Twitter feed because there is always some horrible breaking news. I can’t stand to have the news cluttering up my feed reader streams. I just need enough to know what’s going on and I sometimes don’t even want that much. Am I alone in wanting to tune out the news? Send me more Kid President videos instead.  I just want life to be filled with positivity.
