Let’s Move Mountains
Recently, I took course titled “Grow to Greatness.” The many case studies reiterated that growth and success require focus. This isn’t a big secret. For years, entrepreneurs and leaders have echoed the importance of focus. However, deciding to limit your services, products or market can be a scary decision and staying committed to this choice through the potential dips of growth can be even more daunting.
Yet we all know, the Jack of all trades is a master of none. So, to be a leader you have to choose your discipline and start leading.
Steve Jobs once said, “That’s been one of my mantras – focus and simplicity. Simple can be harder than complex: You have to work hard to get your thinking clean to make it simple. But it’s worth it in the end because once you get there, you can move mountains.”
I am ready to move mountains. I am ready to partner with great causes to achieve great results.
Thus, I’m thrilled to announce that as of August 15, 2013, HiDef, Inc. will officially rebrand to CauseLabs and offer a more streamlined set of services that deliver the very best of our skills for the benefit of our partners.
CauseLabs, once our internal innovation program, defines what we love about our work and so it makes sense that this is the name that we use to introduce our team. We are passionate about our partners’ missions and strive to make a positive impact on the world. For 10 years, we’ve cultivated an experienced team that excels at problem-solving, strategizing and rapid prototyping, and provided them a culture in which they can be leaders in their fields of expertise. We enjoy – no, that’s not quite the right word… we are humbled by user testing and have found that the best way to innovate or deploy successful projects and products is to engage directly with communities and give them a seat at the table as stakeholders in their own future.
Oprah Winfrey said “Passion is energy. Feel the power that comes from focusing on what excites you.”
There is no doubt from a single member of our team where our passions reside. We believe in the great causes that we serve. It’s a no-brainer to focus our energies on the projects that excite us. It will take time and it will take effort to fully transition into this new focused direction, but we’re “drinking our own champagne” or “eating our own dog food” so to speak because our phased approach to our rebrand will follow the same Results-Centered Innovation process that we use to collaborate with our partners.
It’s an exciting time and I am so grateful to be working on this with an amazing team! Kudos to our CEO, TJ Cook, for his vision and leadership that has helped us embark on this momentous milestone as an organization.
In closing, regardless of your business or goals I want to share this quote from John Hagee as a guide for success, “Gather in your resources, rally all your faculties, marshal all your energies, focus all your capacities upon mastery of at least one field of endeavor.”
Amazing post Sheryle, just summed everything up so eloquently. Have TJ use some of this for the actual CauseLabs site 😉
Awesome stuff, Sheryle. So inspiring.
